I was on my spring break through this past month and I been practicing on texturing mostly. So I had this tool Substance Painter 2 and had it on my PC. Since it'll be a waste just having this on my PC, I'd thought of using it. Well, It's a pretty decent tool and it's easy to make a texture since its rendering and texturing at the same time. So yeah, i guess farewell Mudbox, I don't think i'll be using it for awhile.
Also I installed V-ray since Substance painter and mental ray won't work or have good result on the rendering. So I started using this too and rendering's quite fast and no fan speeding like a mofo.
I'm working on a personal project with this that I'd be able to put in my reel. By next month I hope I complete one project.

I been on practice with rocks but I havent got my level higher yet. So in meantime I thought that I'd stop on this and move on to next stuff which is looking at tree. Not really modeling but well, using a software. Speedtree. So I looked at the quick tutorial and see how it would look in Mental ray render. Got stuck on alpha but managed to solve it and wow, a beautiful tree's been made! I did wonder how CG company makes these and I learned that they don't really "scratch" model tree or rocks. More of using scans, or these software like speedtree. I guess the thing I been doing through this past month was pointless but, I did manage to level up on sculpting in Zbrush and use what tool. So here's a screen of what I did by tutorial so I'm hoping that I'd use this in next project.
for past few days since the last post, all i been making is rocks...
yes, rocks...idk where the "f" am i going....
Practice on rock modeling, started from Zbrush sculpting, then to mudbox, and then at last, maya rendering.
So back with more Animation stuffs, I been working on homework and stuffs recently and I didn't really do that much of CGI stuffs. But, in meantime i been taking CGI animation class and we had to do homework based on the board and there was about 5 choices and I chose the 5th one, which was an animation of opening the door, walk and sit and relax. Now, I been doing this for 2 weeks and I showed it to my friend 3 days before deadline. He told me that I won't get a good grade if I did it like this, So I had to remake it from the start which then took me within a day to finish. Quite simple? nope I used whole day to do it lol.
And yeah, the teacher said I gotta fix the walk part since its slipping and it looks weird, thats pretty much it as what he said so, once if I have time, I might aswell fix it but im more of a background modeler instead of animator or rigger so I'll just post what I did.
Also, my school started having spring break so I already planned on using that time to practice nature-like modeling(using Zbrush and such) since last 2 tries within this month was unsuccessful.
That's pretty much it for now and more posts to come. Enjoy seeing rocks and trees lol
